Freddy Fender's "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" was one of his many hits during his career.  Before his death in 2006,  Fender had become a three-time Grammy award winner. He was also recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

His family has now started a petition to get Fender into the Country Music Hall of Fame. His niece, Viviana Huerta posted the following on the WLL page on Facebook.

Sisters, my Cousin Tammy Huerta, Fenders daughter has initiated this petition. I think Fender's induction is long overdue. Please sign the petition and share it so that the country music Hall of Fame can take action

According to his obituary, Fender told the Associated Press in 2004 that his musical career would be complete if he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.

Now let's make this happen.
